This part of the therapy uses a special type of rice harvested only in Kerala which is cooked with the root of Balla, Ashwaganda and Milk. This is pasted and massaged or made to bolus used for rhythmic massage. This is done primarily for Vata constitution and debilitated patients, to increase the muscle strength, flexibility of the body, and it also acts as rejuvenator. Njavara rice is the base therapy medium where different herbs can be added for detoxifying and palliation of pain. It can also be done in pregnant women with MS.
There are few other therapies that are also done, apart from the above: Panchakarma ,Pichu, Thalam (herbal poultice), Pathradharanam (covering with medicinal leaves), shirodhara, breathing of herbs, powder massage, svedana, etc.
